Make or Break

Why do we make so many excuses not to create?

Quote and Toula with Frida

I used my day job as an excuse for why I no longer created art or made things. “I’m too tired. I work too many hours. My work is so stressful that I have no creative juice left to make anything. My work has scared my muse away permanently.”

I blamed my work for all of it. But when did my work become my reason d’être? My reason for killing the very thing that lights me up?

Enough of this bullshit.

Frida & Co. is my own kick up my butt. A reminder that Frida, the patron saint of all Wild Women is all around us telling us to give a voice to the song that beats in our hearts.

My day job pays for my mortgage and chocolate.

My art, no matter how bad, makes my heart sing.

Long live the song in our hearts.
